Dead model Walking? Why Reports of Decline of Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy Were greatly Exaggerated

Abstract:
This keynote traces the research journey of TA psychotherapy from Norcross et al.’s early 2000s verdicts that framed TA as the “most declining” model, through to the emergence of a new evidence‑driven era. It will map key turning points in our community, including the creation of the Theory Development and Research Committee (TDRC), and the significance of European funding initiatives. Building on this overview, the keynote will outline an agenda for the next phase of TA research—highlighting priorities, methodological directions, and strategic alliances that the TDRC and EATA Executive Committee should consider to secure TA’s future as a robust, research‑grounded psychotherapy.
